Get flu and corona vaccine immediately

New Delhi. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said on Wednesday that another wave of Covid-19 infections could begin across Europe. Corona cases have started appearing in many parts of Europe. In a joint statement, WHO director of Europe Hans Kluge and ECDC director Andrea Ammon said, ‘The Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet. Although thankfully we are not where we were a year ago.

The joint statement said that ‘Unfortunately, we are seeing the indicators rising again in Europe. We are suggesting that another wave of infection has started. WHO region-wise data showed that only Europe reported an increase in COVID-19 cases in the week ending 2 October, an 8% increase from the previous week. Public health experts have warned that there is confusion about the number of vaccines available in Europe. The WHO and ECDC noted that millions of people across Europe have still not received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Get vaccinated against both influenza and COVID-19

The World Health Organization and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control have urged European countries to get both flu and COVID-19 vaccines before the expected surge in seasonal influenza cases. WHO and ECDC said, ‘Vulnerable groups including people over 60 years of age, pregnant women and people with co-morbidities should be vaccinated against both influenza and COVID-19.’
