Lima. A LATAM Airlines plane taking off from Lima’s international airport collided with a fire truck on the runway on Friday and caught fire. Airport officials said that all the passengers and crew of the aircraft were completely safe, but two firefighters aboard the truck died. Lima Airport Partners, the company that operates Lima’s Jorge Chavez Airport, said in a tweet that flight services at the airport have been suspended for the time being. The Airbus A320neo that was involved in the accident was carrying 102 passengers and six crew members.

According to a news of Hindustan Times, Lima Airport Partners Company said that our teams are providing necessary care facilities to all the passengers. All passengers are in good condition. Fire department general commander Luis Ponce la Jara said two firefighters were killed and one was injured in the accident at the airport. The truck they were in was hit by the plane. When the truck and the plane collided, both were at a very high speed.
