Moscow, After intensifying its attacks on Ukraine, Russia’s military has killed some 2,500 soldiers in Kyiv in just a week. A report by Russian news agency TASS claimed that the Russian armed forces eliminated more than 2,500 Ukrainian and foreign mercenaries during their special military operation in Ukraine last week. This is one and a half times the number of soldiers killed a week ago. The report further states that from October 17 to 23, Ukraine has suffered the heaviest losses in terms of troops and equipment on the ‘Nikolayev-Krivoy Rog Front’.
Russia hit hard in South Donetsk
TASS quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that Russia announced an attack in the south in the Donetsk People’s Republic, during which several strongholds and summits of Ukraine have been seized. During this, Russian soldiers have reached the settlement of Pavlovka by advancing 3 km. Ukraine lost more than 100 soldiers in the attacks, while six soldiers have surrendered.

Success after General Sergei Surovikin
Russia has been seeing an edge since the infamous General Sergei Surovikin, appointed by Putin for the Ukraine war, took over. The appointment of Sergei Surovikin, which came after the sacking of two senior Russian military commanders, is considered very important for the war in itself. Surovikin has also been awarded the title of ‘Hero of Russia’ after he carried out extremely brutal attacks in the Syrian war in 2017. Surovikin led a successful Russian military operation in Syria as commander of the aerospace forces.
