After evacuating the city of Kherson, Russia has once again intensified the attack.

Two people were killed when a Russian missile hit North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) member Poland, according to a senior US intelligence official. Polish government spokesman Piotr Müller did not immediately confirm this, but said top leaders were holding an emergency meeting to discuss the “crisis situation”. Polish media reported that two people were killed when a missile hit a village near the border with Ukraine. The missile fell in an area where grain was being dried.

According to a Reuters report, after Russia’s return from Kherson, on Tuesday, continuous missiles were fired on the cities of Ukraine. Between the missile attacks, people were alerted by playing air raid sirens in about a dozen major cities. The sound of explosion kept echoing in the whole city. Russia carried out airstrikes on energy and other installations from east to west of Ukraine on Tuesday, causing widespread power outages. A senior official warned that the situation was “serious” and urged Ukrainians to “remain strong in difficult circumstances”.

The airstrikes killed at least one person in a residential building in the capital Kyiv. The attacks came as Ukraine managed to recapture the southern city of Kherson last week. There were attacks in at least 12 areas. A spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force said that Russia fired about 100 missiles. President Volodymyr Zelensky told this number as 85. (Input ANI)
