Moscow. In the midst of the ongoing war for the last 8 months, now Russia is slowly retreating. In this episode, the Russian army has announced that it is withdrawing from the southern city of Kherson and its surrounding areas. This is being considered as another humiliating blow for Russia in this fight that has been going on for the last eight months. However, Ukrainian officials did not immediately confirm the move. In recent days, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russians are pretending to move out of Kherson to implicate their ploy.

Zelensky called the attempt to persuade civilians to enter the Russian-controlled “battlefield” as a “drama”. The top commander of the Russian military in Ukraine, General Sergei Surovikin, told Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday that it was impossible to supply various goods to Kherson and other areas of the West Bank. Shoigu then agreed to his proposal to retreat and erect a defense line on the east coast.

The withdrawal of its army from Kherson is another big blow for Russia. It was the only provincial capital captured by Russian forces during the eight-month battle. General Sergei Surovikin informed Shoigu that it was no longer possible to supply the city of Kherson. Apart from this, he said that I understand that this is a very difficult decision. Let us tell you that Kherson is one of the four major regions that the Putin government announced to include Russia.

Volodymyr Zelensky late Monday urged the international community to “force Russia to engage in genuine peace talks” and listed its general conditions for talks: the return of all Ukraine’s occupied lands from the war. Compensation for damages and the prosecution of war crimes.
