Jakarta. Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the G20 summit to be held in Bali, Indonesia next week. The Russian Embassy in Indonesia has confirmed this. The Russian embassy in Indonesia said that Sergei Lavrov will lead the Russian delegation here. In the embassy, ​​Yulia Tomskaya told AFP news agency that I can confirm that Sergei Lavrov will lead the Russian delegation to the G20.

According to the news agency Reuters, spokesman for the Minister of Coordination for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Jodi Mahardi, while giving information about this, said that Putin will attend this meeting virtually. As a G20 host, Indonesia has resisted pressure from leaders of Western countries and Ukraine to withdraw its invitation to Putin from the summit and remove Russia from the grouping over the war in Ukraine. Indonesia said it did not have the authority to do so without the consent of the members.

Indonesia has also invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. But Zelensky has said that if Putin takes part in this conference, he will not participate. Many other world leaders, including US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, are expected to attend the summit.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to Indonesia next week to participate in this summit. There India will take over the chairmanship of the powerful grouping G20 from Indonesia, the current president, on December 1.
