moscow, A former Russian politician claimed that the end of the Russian President is near. According to a report in India Today, former deputy of the country’s federal assembly Ilya Ponomarev said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not live for more than a year and will not see his next birthday on 7 October. Speaking to UK news agency Express, Ponomarev said Putin’s downfall would come when Ukraine reclaims Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.

Ponomarev was the only deputy to vote against the annexation of Crimea and openly accused Putin of rigging the elections. Fearing stern action, he has been living in exile in Ukraine since 2016. Ponomarev told the Express that the Ukrainian army would “one day” enter Crimea and put an end to Putin’s rule. He said that the way Putin has positioned himself now, he would not be able to sustain such a military defeat. Ponomarev, speaking on the war with Ukraine, said that Putin knows he is losing the war, but he still believes his army will win.

Russian MP made fun of Putin’s speech
In another incident, the Russian parliament mocked Putin during his speech by hanging noodles over his ears. During Putin’s address, Russian MP Mikhail Abdalkin listened to his speech by putting noodles on his ears. This video of Mikhail became increasingly viral. ‘Hang noodles on the ears’ is an idiom which means to mislead or fool a person. Through this video, he is showing that in this case, Putin is misleading or fooling others by lying.
