Indonesia New Capital Photos: In view of the danger of sinking of the present capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, now the new capital is being shifted to the island of Borneo. Overcrowding, pollution and earthquakes along with the danger of Jakarta sinking into the Java Sea forced the government to abandon it as soon as possible. Indonesian officials say the new metropolis will be a “sustainable forest city” that puts the environment at the center of development.
