NDRF team leaves for Turkey from Ghaziabad for rescue and relief work in earthquake

New Delhi. After the severe earthquake in Turkey, India has extended a hand to help in the rescue work. Two NDRF teams are being sent from here to Turkey, out of which 51 member team of 8th Battalion NDRF Ghaziabad has left this morning. Along with the woman and the doctor, two dogs have also been sent in this team.
PK Tiwari, Commandant of 8th Battalion NDRF Ghaziabad told that at around 3 am today, a 51-member team of NDRF has left for Adana Airport Turkey by Air Force aircraft from Hindon Air Force Station.

He told that 5 women are also included in this team. Apart from this, a doctor and two dog squads are also included with the team. This team is being led by Deputy Commandant Deepak Talwar.
More than 4,300 people were killed and thousands injured in a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Turkey and neighboring Syria on Monday. Thousands of buildings have been heavily damaged by the earthquake. The number of casualties is expected to rise as rescuers are still searching the affected areas for people trapped under the debris.
