German chancellor warns of consequences if China supplies weapons to Russia Against Ukraine

Berlin. Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz said China would face “consequences” if it provided weapons to Russia for attacks in Ukraine. However, Scholz hoped that China would not do so. The Chancellor of Germany said this on Sunday in an interview given to ‘CNN’ two days after meeting US President Joe Biden in Washington.

Pentagon press secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder said at a press conference, ‘There are indications that they are considering it. I don’t have any additional information or any intelligence in this regard, except the fact that they haven’t abandoned the idea (of helping Russia). I want to make it clear that this would be a wrong decision.

He said that this is something on which the Pentagon is keeping a close watch. Rider had said, ‘We should not forget what the consequences would be if they do this. This will unnecessarily escalate the conflict, resulting in more innocent lives as Russia continues its campaign against Ukrainian citizens.’
