A shooter wearing a bulletproof vest stormed two schools in Espirito Santo in southeastern Brazil, killing two teachers and a student and wounding 11 others, according to news agency Reuters. The two attacks took place around 10 a.m. local time Friday in the small town of Aracruz, located about 80 kilometers north of Vitoria, the capital of Espirito Santo state. Espirito Santo’s head of public security, Marcio Celante, said the attacker was a 16-year-old boy who covered his face, making it difficult to identify him. He has been arrested.

The governor of Espirito Santo, Renato Casagrande, told a news conference that the attacker was a former student of the school. He will replace the current President Jair Bolsonaro. Lula said, ‘I offer my support to Governor Casagrande to investigate the case and to console the communities around the 2 affected schools.’
